Optimizing user experience and interplay of components in
Visual Rules Suite

Development work has focused on extending the user-friendliness and seamless integration of many aspects of the Visual Rules Suite’s classic components. For instance, Modeler now features a usage matrix that helps users to keep track of all the data, actions, and attributes used in a given rule project. From now on, decision tables can be automatically checked for completeness. And a number of new input assists make rule authors’ work easier.

New tools and editors for the classic platforms

Thanks to the addition of Context Explorer, Flow Rules Templates, and test editors, WebModeler now has everything it needs to make it an full-fledged modeler option for business users. The Team Platform’s Team Server now allows you to create a new rule project directly from the web console and have audit logs and revisions displayed. The Execution Platform features a new maintenance tool and the Builder has new Ant Tasks and Maven Mojos added which, in combination with the Team Server, enable you to set up a release process of your own.

New platforms for additional rule execution scenarios

This year, two additional platforms have been integrated into the Visual Rules Suite to allow interactive and non-interactive execution of business application rules. Batch Platform now includes plugins for the Visual Rules Modeler that help to use rules in batch scenarios. The new Application Platform allows you to build web-based business applications whose business logic, process logic, presentation and integration logic is completely modeled using rules. This means you can create business software that directly involves business experts and fully integrates their specialist expertise into the application.
